Alan believes that a woman's right to decide to have a safe and legal abortion is indispensable. It would be a travesty for the courts to overturn Roe v. Wade and turn the clocks back to a time when abortions were illegal. The decision to terminate a pregnancy is one that each woman should be able to make with her family and doctor; this is not a decision for politicians to make. That is why Alan supports the principles established in Roe vs. Wade. It also is important to make sure that women have access to reproductive health care, including services that will help to reduce the number of unintended pregnancies, and pre-natal and post-natal care for expectant mothers. Assuring reproductive health care, so women's lives and health are not put in jeopardy, is a priority for Alan. This is not something to be traded for other legislative or political gains.
